Synopsis Of Research:
Retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) is a disease of the developing retinal vasculature in the premature retina. There have been a number of NIH sponsored clinical trials in ROP: CRYO-ROP; LIGHT-ROP; STOP-ROP; and ET-ROP. These trials have yielded a wealth of information and publications on treatment, natural history, incidence, screening, criteria, and more. Dr. Reynolds has actively participated in all these trials, leading the LIGHT-ROP trial, and co-authored numerous papers based on these trials.
